spraymax 2k (only 24hrs pot life after activated)
expensive but worth the premium.

what grit should i get for the wet sanding
how many coats of clearcoat should i spray on?

Id say 1500 -2000 grit. I'd do at least 3 clear coats. If you see any cloudy finish, wetsand it before you put another coat on. You would eliminate any imperfection which will build up later.
You could do 5 clear coats. As you are wetsanding, you are gonna remove the clearcoat anyway. So more coats are good but not too much.

Also, let it dry before you wetsand. You might create crease if you do while the coats are still soft. Water is fine for wetsanding. No need a special soapy solution.

Another tip, check your rattle can nozzle. Some nozzles are loose. Return that and get a new one.
