Rear Camber/Alignment Question
I'm totally noob when it comes to Suspension/Camber/Alignment.
So my friend told me after looking at my car for maybe 5 minutes that my brand new BRZ needs alignment. He said my driver side rear wheel has negative camber and my passenger side rear wheel has positive camber. Sounds crazy right!?!?! Anyways, is there any truth behind this? I "thought" I might have seen the same thing as him, but it could just be the power of suggestion? Can anyone chime in on this statement? Fact or fiction? Unless it came that way from the factory, I don't think I drove it hard enough to damage the suspension. Less that 200 miles on it. Either way I'm going to get it checked out by my friend the shop owner. Just wanted to see what others thought. Thanks! |
take a square piece of cardboard or something else and hold it against the wheels on a flat surface for a quick and dirty check. see what the difference is between the left and right. the cardboard should be tall enough to span the entire rim. for stock wheels, you'll be looking at the tire as it sticks out further than the rim. i know that there was a difference between the left and right rear camber on my BRZ straight from the factory.
