DIY: Installing LED turn signal housing w/ DRLs

Hello everyone! Here's a quick and easy DIY on how to install your LED Turn signal housing with DRL bar.

Special thanks to: @Vicious LED for helping me out!

Product info: Vicious LED Turn Signal

Tools needed:
10mm Socket
Socket Wrench
Philips Screwdriver
Flat Head Screwdriver
Tap Wire Splice (2x)
Electrical tape
Wire cutter
Oscillator cutter (Something to cut the plastic tab)

Step 1:
Remove the tabs of the plastic cover using a flat head gently until they pop out.

Step 2:
Turn your wheel inward to help ease the access of the 4 pop in locks of the plastic panel and remove the locks using a philips screwdriver.

step 3:
Use the 10mm socket to remove the 2 nuts holding the turn signal housing on to the bumper.

Step 4:
Cut the plastic tab that's pointing on the 2 O'clock position shown in the pic below. This will enable you to plug the harness to the new LED housing.

Step 5:
Use the wire tap splice to connect the YELLOW wire from the HOUSING to the GREEN wire of the HARNESS.

Step 6:
Use the wire tap splice to connect the GREEN wire from the HOUSING to the BLACK wire of the HARNESS.

Note: Covered the RED and BLACK wires of the housing because if you have an LED relay, you wouldn't need it.

Refer to the pic below

Step 7:
Make sure everything is connected properly and TEST to see if they are running. If DRLs are running but no turn signal, reverse the connection of the housing plug and the harness as you may have plugged it in wrong.

Step 8 (optional):
Wrap the splice connectors and the wire with electrical tape to ensure nothing goes wrong.

Step 9:
Put everything back and do the same thing on the other side.

Enjoy your new LED housing with DRLs.

I like that a lot, great write-up! Couple questions though:

1.) Are you running LED DRL's?
2.) The Turn Signal DRL's are essentially on all the time now, correct?

Because I'm trying to figure out how to turn my existing DRLs "off" because they look dull and yellow (essentially I want them to only be High-Beams), and have these new Turn Signal DRLs be the only DRLs. If that makes sense. :iono:

You can have your dealer access the lights with their program to turn the DRLs off. I did that before I drove the car off the lot.

Oh, didn't know that! If I do that, will these new Turn Signal DRLs still function properly?

I'm not familiar with these lights but it should have no effect on them. It's a totally separate housing and function than your stock DRL. Your yellow DRL you see during the day also acts as your high beams at night. Once you turn your parking lights or low beams on, the DRL goes off. It will stay off until you turn all those lights back off, hence "Day-time running light." You could just change it to an LED bulb like many have, but you lose your high beams.

The drls on the turn signal switch is controlled through the fog light switch in your car. The drls headlight switched off by the dealer will not affect the drls in your turn signal.

So, no need to resistors and stuff? Why then the recommended installation instructions are so complicated? How did you avoid hyperflashing?

I would I also suggest these, because there is no wiring involved. And its a little bit cheaper.
