Tow hook bumper hole vs. elements
My FRS is my daily driver and I was wonder if the exposed hole for the tow hook bolt for the front plate relocation frame would be bad for the elements (ie. rain)?
Does the foam behind the bumper mold or any metal parts gets rusted behind the bumper? Thanks |
in sf you should be fine. we don't get much corrosion out here. if you are worried about the front thread getting build up in the hole you can thread in the correct metric bolt in the mean time or rub in some Vaseline. the foam is inorganic so it shouldn't mold.

from what ur asking i'm assuming u have a plate re-locator and are asking about the abnormally large hole that is left once u pull off the cover piece?
I just tapp'd and drilled a hole corresponding to the size of the bolt(just a bit bigger) of the re-locator. Glued soft rubber washer that i had lying around on the inside of the piece and pop'd it back in. pushed in the Bolt that came with the re-locator and done. Looks clean and satisfied my OCD. |
Buy corban and coat the threads, stuff is great.
