Best TN/NC mountain roads?

Hey guys, got a family trip to Disneyworld at the end of the month. While everyone else is flying, I'm leaving a few days early and driving down in the FR-S (from Ohio). I'll be heading down to Robbinsville the first day and staying overnight. I've alotted the second full day to driving around the mountains in TN/NC. Looking for suggestions on what to hit and what to skip. The plan for now is to run the Tail of the Dragon/Cherahala Skyway loop and possibly Moonshiner 28. I'll end up at a relatives in Asheville that night then continue to Florida the following day. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Pisgah Forest is the hidden jewel nobody does much... I'm from the area, I know.

Glad to see this thread made, as I will be planning a trip soon and am looking for the best roads to drive through on my way back from DC to FL.

441 has a 360° turn, near the TN/NC border.

Don't forget hellbender on the way to fontana from deal's gap. That's a great road.

Not sure which roads exactly (don't have a map in front of me) but the drive from Deal's gap to Bridal Veil Falls and to the Highlands is pretty good as well.

I would love to share some roads, but I like my non-busy and basically cop free roads to enjoy! :) Sorry fellers!

NC80 - The Devil's Whip

Just keep in mind, there's still a chance of running into a slow tractor trailer on these mountain roads, so be careful.

Also forgot to warn about the slow motorcycles you may run into, or the fast motorcycles which may run into you!

Sounds like "Moonshiner 28".

I use these to find good roads:

If anyone has other sources, please share, I'm always looking for new roads.

So far I've driven:
NC80 Devils Whip
US129 Tail of the Dragon
Cherohala Skyway
NC 226/226A Diamondback
US 441 from Gatlinburg to Cherokee
Blueridge Parkway from Cherokee to the VA border
NC74A from Asheville to Chimney Rock
NC66 Near Hanging Rock State Park

Another trip to the Dragon and the Moonshiner 28 route is planned for October, when the leaves change.

Thanks for the roads everyone. This is my rough route edit. Feel free to add some spots on the way. Hungry Mother State Park looks like some good roads.
