add RCA adapters for the 10 series frs and 2014 frs
I think i just found a solution for us owners of the 10 series frs, and 2014 frs. since the 6.1" touchscreens do not have RCA outputs and are pioneer units, pioneer makes a device that makes it so that lets you add em, and it connects directly into back of head unit.

the site says they are RCA auxiliary inputs, not outputs.

i just want to add an amp so i can put in one or two type-r 10" subs. cause 12 or 1400 for OEM audio 400+ system when i can just do it all myself for 600 tops, I have added a 2female 1male Aux cord adapter and had one run to the amp and the other for the phone audio, only downside is that the phone is the only way to control the bass output

That product creates an aux input to any pioneer head unit with a "P" in the model number. It uses the ip-bus input to allow auxillary devices to be used. For example, my old radio I got seven or so years ago had an ip-bus input that allowed satellite radio, ipod adaptor, cd changer, and a few other things. I got an Android phone for a short period of time and was unable to use the audio from this source through my stereo. I was able to use Peripheral's version of that (available at stores to this day) to create an auxillary input to allow anything with a headphone jack to play through my car stereo. A line out converter or an amp with high-level inputs will be the solution you are looking for. Feel free to message me as I am in Colorado too (Aurora) and I can help point you in the direction that will work best for you. That being said, both FRSs I've had the radios out of had RCA outputs that can be turned on the menu of the radio when turned off which will output an adjustable subwoofer signal. This adjustment will come up in the menu where Bass and Treble are. |
this is an input, not a preamp out for an amp. However, there are converters out there that wire into the speaker wires you can use for a sub with a stock radio with preamp outs.

ya i figured that out after i posted it, you dont have to post its description i already read it several times

Don't forget that there are active crossovers that will take a high level input. There are also some decent amps that will do the same thing. There is a thread dedicated to how to tap the leads to the factory amp. The signal being supplied to the amp is full range, supposedly. You can split that as you see fit and if you want to take the time to make up a harness, you can do it without cutting the wires.

@Dsmith1992 So is your setup working and can you give us a trip report on how to tap off of the stock amp? I have a powered subwoofer I just picked up that comes with low level RCA or high level inputs, wondering which I should use.
