Vibration/Noise when clutch is depressed
2013 Scion FR-S
31,000 KM Lots of stop and go city, and highway driving... Driving style is agressive, but havent done much clutch kicking or hard launching. I tried searching but couldn't find this exact issue on the forum, but it seems similar to what other people describe as a loose release bearing. So when i fully depress the clutch pedal in neutral, or in any gear there is a mild vibration and what sounds like a rattle/squeek noise. It sounds like a bearing is loose or worn- but i honestly have no idea. Has anyone else had this problem? Or know what the problem is? and/or know if it would be covered under warranty? Thanks in advance guys! |
I have the same problem. Need help too!

shouldnt really matter if it's capable to being fixed under warranty where as it "should" be repalced and/or fixed under warranty i would agree with you that there is something wrong if you really are hearing that kind of noise and should take it in to be looked at.

I just got the same exact issue today, but on my aftermarket clutch. Wtf is going on here? Any solutions?

Sounds like a throw out bearing .

Post a sound clip of it

A new one would do the trick lol I mean unless you have a upgraded bearing we wont have much of a choice....

Perhaps the clutch cylinder needs to be looked at ? Or the diaphragm of the clutch plate somehow was not aligned correctly?
I'm just giving humble opinion. @Synack |

The clutch throw out bearing is the most likely the bad actor. However, unless it was just a bad bearing, something else (like a bent fork) may have made it go bad. An "operation" is in order .... :( humfrz |
The throw out bearing comes into play when you depress the clutch..
Might be worn or damaged if you get constant noise which the clutch depressed. Some noise is considered normal.. But it should not be loud or excessive... |

Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon for a throw out bearing to go bad, especially if the driver rode the clutch or the clutch was badly out of adjustment. Not so much anymore. Keep us posted on what you find. humfrz |
