rce yellow lowered...now wheels any size suggestions?
with the rce springs I am lowered about an inch and right now I am pretty much trying to decide on 17s or 18s any pics of a 1 inch drop with both? I am looking to fit 245s or 255s all around if possible, and am leaning toward rays gramlight 57dr's.i want to keep my wheel gap pretty close to how it is now depending on how it looks with the wider tires. some pictures ive found with a 1inch drop with 17s look like too much tire and some of the 18s ive found look like it raised the car too much, while some look perfect...not sure if peoples measurements are correct or what.

17s or 18s shouldn't effect ride height. That's all in proper tire selection. 235/40-17 is slightly smaller than stock, 245/40-17 is as close to stock as you'll get with a wider tire on 17s. On 18s, you'd want 245/35-18. Variations on those sizes are up to you. There are lots of good calculators out there.
That said, here's my car with 235/40-17s on 17x8 Wedsport TC105n wheels. I have RCE Yellows installed: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8317/8...ca045620_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8318/8...881ce900_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8311/8...7d80c1dd_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8178/8...593fee73_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8454/8...52667746_b.jpg |
looks great, I might just have to stick with 17s after all

Draco-rex- ya sold me on 17s I really like that look,Just bought the gramlight 57dr 17x9+35, plus the 17's are slightly cheaper, now to see how much rubber I can fit on this thing without rubbing.
infinite012-yeah looks really good, there were definitely some mistakes with other peoples measuring skills cuz your 18s look like it kept the same height as the stock wheel setup . |
im lowered on rce yellows, im looking to buy new wheels and tires. Im thinking on goin with a staggered look.
front 18x8 45mm offset rear 18x9.5 45 offset take advantage of wider and sticker tire, only downside is that i wont b able to rotate them. thoughts on this setup? |

As this set up is going to be bit more heavier due to bigger wheels and wider tire, should i be okay with my oem brake set up? |

I went staggered. 18x8 & 18x9. Everyone talks about how its going to "ruin" the car; it does not. I had 4 different square setups before I went staggered. Anyway, if it is the look you want, it is fine for DD. I can't get my car to understeer. Oversteer is no problem. I drive my car for pleasure and to work. No track or AutoX. +45 offset is not optimal. I added a 10mm spacer in the front on my 18x8 +45 and a 5mm spacer to my 18x9 +42. (making them +35 and +37) They are flush now. I have 225/40 and 245/35 MPSS. And am on Eibach prokit springs. What wheels are you considering? |

However my budget is not to expend more money buying BBKs. Maybe I can budget for some upgrade pads and mayybe rotors. |
