Opinion of perrin exhaust and aem intake?
Im think of doing a aem intake and perrin non res cat back catted front and also the over pipe. I will do header later on but do i need to tune before i get the header? Really just looking for a nice sound to start and then add header for some power. Hoping a tune isnt required at first for this setup

No you don't need a tune unless you get headers. I prefer the Nameless Performance exhausts over the Perrin, but the Perrin one is good too. They are both local to me so lots of cars around here have both. I have the Nameless setup. Check my build thread if you'd like.

Skip the intake, they're a marketing gimmick. The stock airbox with a good filter is a much better use of money, plus you'll have more cash to spend elsewhere :)

I second that, I went with Blitz LM Panel Filter, DSport tests show that most restrictive part is the filter and that effectively the stock intake is already very well designed.

Our K&N dyno test only yielded a slight gain on that intake, and I'm pretty sure that was because the hood was open.
Perrin exhaust is definitely not. A lot of them running around Houston. I know someone is probably saying there are a lot of every aftermarket exhaust running around Houston. |
I just got the Perrin Non-Resonated catback and it is currently my only mod. I love the sound. Nice and deep with no raspiness or drone. It's loud at startup and when you really get on it but is relatively quiet at idle and cruising speeds. Couldn't be happier.

I recommend the non resonated setup mainly to customers that want a louder/deeper toned exhaust, but do not plan on adding a header. If loud is what you are aiming for, I'd recommend looking into our 3" exhaust. It is by far my personal favorite in regards to tone/loudness. |
^this...my set up was great before the headers. now with no cats it's very very loud. I don't mind it most of the time and my last tune mellowed it out a bit when cruising. WOT it's ridiculous though.

I am going to assume that it is still going to be loud, and only gets louder with an after market front pipe. |

it does. I had ordered the over-pipe and front pipe when I ordered the rest of the exhaust, but due to some shipping snafu, I had to wait to get the OP and FP. unfortunately no vids with stock OP/FP, but I do have some vids with the Perrin headerback exhaust. linked them in my build thread. (the dragstrip vids are full 3" exhaust, and she sounds so sexy) |
