Is the instrument panel slightly angled (or just me?)

Did a few searches for this from the web but the ambiguous phrasing might be making it difficult.

I've been driving my FR-S everyday for almost a week now and I just started to notice that the instrument display seems to be slightly angled so that it is best viewed from left of centre of the driver's seat. Makes the steering column look angled with it as well...

Anyone else see it or am I crazy?

Haven't noticed it at all... and my FR-S is my DD...

Hmm. I THINK the OP is correct. I didn't break out the measuring devices, but I do believe that there is a slight angle. The instruments (tach, speedo) seem to be aimed just ever-so slightly towards the center of the drivers seat. If you could look down from the top is would be easier.

you look at the analog speedo?

Symmetrical 07-29-2013 01:59 AM

^he said speedo

Rarely. Just the tach, usually, and digital speed "speedo" if I need to be legal. The analog speedometer is useless. Too hard for you to understand we are talking about the instrument faces themselves?

oo a little hostility i sense. To the op, nope idk what you're talking about. Mine is all straight.. But then again I dont really look at the cluster when i drive.

If you drop the steering wheel as low as it goes and then visually line up the rear edge with the steering wheel with the front edge of the instrument cluster, it becomes a bit more apparent.

Maybe your instrument panel is perfectly straight, but the rest of your
car is misaligned!

gzpermadi 07-30-2013 01:34 PM

I feel this too, I pull my steering at the closest and lowest setting.

I thought about this actually (i.e. driver's seat misaligned when bolted?)
