Automatic Transmission Cooler, necessary for autoX and Track?
Is anyone running a ATF cooler kit on here? I am looking at the B&M ATF Super Cooler, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70255
I'm also wanting to get my ATF fluids changed out from the OEM ones, to Redline Hightemp ATF. Just seeing if anyone is running a similar set up, and how the AT is holding up. Probably getting a gauge to check ATF temp as well. Any insight will be helpful! :happyanim: |
I doubt they are "needed" but having one definitely couldn't hurt. With that said, what kind of tracking are you planning to do? What class do you plan to compete (or play) in? These choices play heavily into what parts you can or cannot add to your car.

http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rule...ring.html#17.1. AUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS - STS I'd think you'd have to ask a complete expert on that but "air cooling ducts", but you are correct in the STX class any transmission cooler is not allowed, thanks, but it is allowed on the, Street Prepared, Street Modified, Prepared. These transmissions are pretty bulletproof anyways from what I've seen I'd be more worried about a better radiator and oil cooling if plans on running a class other than STX or stock. These engines run pretty hot and the FA20 has no way of lowering the oil temp stock it just increases unless its off or lower idle situations. |
