"Performance" Oriented Intake system??

In the market for an aftermarket intake system , currently running the Greddy Evo3 catback exhaust, I understand gains are very minimal but would like even a minute improvement in throttle response and noise ;)! Currently looking at the trd system as well as the Greddy/aFe! Open to suggestions thanks for your input ft86club

Maybe also a front pipe suggestion that will pair well with the Greddy Evo3?

FA20Club V2 Intake.

I'd go with the aFE/Greddy Momentum or the Perrin CAI and Inlet hose combination. I personally have the aFE because it was the cheaper and more practical for me (Perrin parts are obscenely overpriced here and I found a dealer that sold the aFE at fair price).

FA20Club intake for sure. Inexpensive and one of the only true cold air intakes. I went for a spirited drive a few months ago after the install with temps around 50 degrees and opened up the hood afterwards and felt the CAI pipe and it was cold almost all the way to the throttle body. sounds mean and throttle response is much better

None. Only an inlet tube to get rig of the noise generator and a drop-in is all you need. Save your extra $$$ for a header or tune.

I like my trd but it put me in stx class in the scca and now I lose constantly.

Then why do you like it? Lol

DAN_BRZ 07-04-2013 12:14 PM

i am really happy with my TRD intake as well. there are also a few companies that make a drop in filter like perrin & k&n that make pretty much the same dyno #'s as most CAI, best bang for the buck

Perrin CAI and Inlet hose or FA20 club, honestly there is little to no gain but they sound awesome. Id get a tune or a frontpipe/overpipe first.

AEM FTW!

injen and k/n intakes made best power in dsport comparison. they were ecutek tuned

eddieEndo 07-04-2013 04:54 PM

wow thanks for the overwhelming responses guys!!! yeah i just want to get rid of that stupid sound generator!! leaning towards the trd or greddy at the moment :) time will tell

This may be a dumb question, but does the bumper have to come off?
