18x9.5 +38 tire upgrade question
currently have 245 40 18. can I go much wider such as 275? or would 265 be better? any experience and input would be great.
currently have whiteline camber bolts up front and cusco arms in the rear for adjustment of the camber. i'm not looking to stretch and pull and will be at a functional lowered height with my kw v3s thanks! |
you're already doing it wrong.
235/40, 245/35, 255/35 will work better. now .. if you plan to race / track the car ..... that front wheel size is going to be drama. It's fine for the street but with a 235/40 on an 18x9.5 +38 front I rub brutally even with 2 degrees negative camber. it may work at stock height with stiffer suspension but not for a lowered car. I'm gonna have to cut my fender liners out it seems |

Sorry for jack thread,
So 18x9.5 +38 all around with 255/35/18 will fit? |
275 is the optimal size for a 9.5" wheel. In terms of fitment because of offset you may run into problems.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19954 - Jives car is 18x9.5 +40 square with 265/35/18's all around, hes got it dialed in to run awesome and the car looks mint. I'd discuss it further with him as he has more experience with the setup. Best of luck!
