guys who are running Catless front pipe

Hey guys that are running catless front pipes, Invidia, Motiv etc.. are you guys having problems with smoke and smell coming from the exhaust? Or does the first cat fix it all.

Wanting to do the front pipe but do not want smoke and fumes going catless on the front pipe.

I'm getting no smoke at all with a fully catless engine back, when I had just the catless front pipe there was no fumes or smoke as well, the strong fumes come once you take out the headers.

I only had smell and smoke when burning in my exhaust's resonator. no smell or smoke. the secondary cat is quite small.

Did you change everything at once? It's not uncommon for a smell to occur for a few days as your new system burns off impurities that are on it after it is hooked up. If you smell fuel/gas exhaust that can come from exhaust leak or you could be running rich. I would suggest a tune, that helps a ton as well.

I only did the cat back but I wanna do the front pipe as well. I been hearing stories of other guys who did the catless front pipe smoking and smelling but on different cars.

I guess the question now is stick with Invidia to go with the Q300 or go Motiv

Any new exhaust part can (and likely will) smoke and smell a bit for the first few days as coatings and impurities burn off, but in the long run they'll be fine. If you run fully catless it will definitely smell different in the long run.

Before I put the header on I had a P&L overpipe, catless frontpipe and an SRT catback.
I only smelled a little fumage when I started it in the garage. Not bad, but expected.
Once I had a header with a high flow cat installed, the fumes seemed a bit stronger but to me, it's all relative.
I grew up around cars with no cats, and less efficient ones. I actually enjoy the smells. As long as I'm not couped up in an enclosed space, it ain't nothin' but a thang...

Stock header with ark front pipe. No smells at all other than just exhaust.

My last car had a catless header, but catted front pipe and that reeked.
