More mechanical sound for AT manual mode?

Is there anyway or any aftermarket part that would give the AT 86's gear stick in manual mode a more mechanical or louder click when shifting up and down ? (Talking about in M mode, shifting up and down + - with the gear knob.)

What it really needs is a neutral lockout. Did that once thinking I had it in manual. Lucky it was at idle.

No. AT doesn't work like that.

Its got reverse lockout, you need to be able to go into nuetural in case you spin the car so it doesnt stall out when the back end goes in the opposite direction

You could make some MP3's from some good movie shifting scenes and put them on a USB stick. Be sure to put about a 1 second delay in front of the actual sound effect.

Hit play on the audio file, then quickly "shift". Stand back and be proud that you are cool.

Yes. It's called a 6 speed manual. You can find these on any FR-S.

Not the automatic ones.

A sharp detent would fit the bill. I agree with the OP, I think, although the AT shift probably has more "feel" than the manual as is.

Then I have more to learn. I grew up on MT cars. For some reason, it sees like instant death to shift an AT in to neutral or from neutral into gear, regardless of RPM. Thinking about it, I'd bet the trans software/hardware would a better job than a manual, even if it's slower.
