Spacer question for OEM wheels
 

I have been debating on what wheels to go with and everytime I think I find what I want to pull the trigger on something else comes out that catches my eye.

I think I may go with something in the XXR line but just cant decide which one however I know I love the + 35 off set from the photos I have seen.

I do not know much about spacers and all that stuff etc.

So I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on what spacers to get for the OEM wheels to make them more like a + 35 Off set. I think I read that factory is +48 I could be wrong.

But anyways in the mean time I was going to throw the spacers on in an attempt to get the look of the +35 offset on the OEM wheels until I decide which wheels I want to get. Again my knowledge is limited in this area so I am hoping you guys can help me. Also if spacers are going to effect the way the car is going to ride in a negative way I dont want to do that either.

I have the pro kit from Eibach but dont want to install it until I have my new wheels and tires and do it all at once.

I figure I could use the OEM as my Winter set up and the new ones for the nice months.

So basically bottom line question is what size spacers I need. What goes into having them installed and what tire to get to fill up that gap with the fender on the stock suspension.

Again I keep :bonk:over the wheels I so crazy I cant decide if I should go with the 17 instead of 18 I saw a car with 17 xxr lowered and it looked great with the pro kit. so I dont know lol

So please bare with me guys and help me out here with the best spacer and fatter tires to fill up that gap on the stock suspension until I pull the trigger on my new set up.

Can you let me know what best brand maybe post link to where I can get them at. I will need custom lugs I am assuming with spacers?

Also what about the tire size to fill up the fender on stock suspension

Dan I will be honest. It may not be worth it at the end of the day once you start spending the money. H&r spacers are great but aren't cheap. You will need longer wheel studs if they do not come with them.

H&R come with the bolts.

A little bit more clarification on how to read the chart, with the OEM wheels which are 17x7 +48 and a 1" drop, you need front spacers of 25mm in the front and 35mm in the rear to achieve perfect flushness.

Ideally, you get the perfect sized wheel with lower offsets and you won't need to run spacers. Spacers aren't necessarily unsafe, but they're essentially some extra parts in your car you don't need unless you need extra clearance for BBKs and want to go wider for track purposes (I don't track my car - I just want to look of flushness). You just need to think about spacers more and check/retorque them as necessary - so there's a bit of maintenance involved.

Personally, I went with H&R spacers (20mm in front and 30mm for the rear) on 18x7.5 +48 square wheels. I went with the "best" spacers according to others I spoke to - H&R, but other brands include Eibach, Project Ks, Ichiba... I wanted the extra assurance that the spacers wouldn't fail on me while I was driving, knowing I will be extra anal about trying to torque everything to spec to ensure the wheels/spacers don't fly off.

I went with H&R and the longer studs. Here's 5mm front and 15mm rear, with lowering springs (sorry I don't have a better pic).

Here are some of my photos after the install of the H&R spacers. I have yet to lower the car on my Eibach Pro-Kits (~1" drop) yet cause I'm trying to do them at the same time as my Koni inserts.

i ran 20 and 25mm spacers on my oem wheels. fitment was perfect even at stock height.

That's interesting, I noticed that you swapped your BRZ side decals for the FRS ones. Did you just swap with a FRS of the same color?

Yes, plus I just swapped the spoiler away too.

Can anyone link me to some 8mm spacers in this style please? I just wasted 15 mins of my life looking for some with no luck

Will this spacer fit the stock 17" rims ?

Anyidea does the stock 17" rims have the "pocket" for the nut sit in ?

The OEM wheels do have spaces in the back. I have Corner3Garage 20/25mm spacers, they fit the OEM wheels with no problem.
