Ok to have non staggered wheels but staggered tires?

Hi, im not planning to buy aftermarket coils, so wanted to keep my car stock. if i have same size wheels in front and in rear, but go wider tires in the rear, will that be ok? im thinking 225/45/18 in front and 245/40/18 in rear on same size rims all around

Yes--no issues.

Its ok, but your tire choice has a larger diameter than the OEM spec, My suggestion would be Front 225/40/18, Rear 245/35/18.

I see this comment a fair bit, and am wondering what are the real downsides to a larger than stock diameter, other than the speedometer being off...? Tks.

Taller gearing (ie slower acceleration / higher mph in each gear)

Possibly more mpg

Could be a rubbing issue
