Borla UEL headers w/stock exhaust VIDEO

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZM5d_7c5Xo"]Borla UEL headers with stock exhaust - YouTube[/ame]

Had them installed yesterday by Peter at Exhaust World in North Perth who did a great job. I provided spacers for the O2 sensors (HELP 42009 spark plug non-foulers) which have (so far at least) stopped the CEL issue from having no cat.

The torque dip is more like a plateau now and seems to pull a lot better, but let's face it, the main reason for UEL is boxer rumble! :party0030:

Not sure on what to do for the rest of the exhaust but it is likely that it will be an Invidia Q300 and then a custom down and midpipe :)

I will post up another video after a month or so if there is any change to the raspy start up noise. I suspect it will quiet down on start up after it has got a bit of carbon in there :)

On a cruise recently I opened her up at freeway speeds and will post up the in cabin video of that shortly :)

There's not, that's your car warming up. Keeps the weird rasp on every warm up.

Never put a spacer/anti-fouler on the primary wide-band O2 sensor! The ECU relies heavily on this sensor to adjust the AFR. The secondary O2 sensor is the one that monitors catalyst efficiency and requires attenuation when the primary cat is removed.

A CEL will be thrown othewise. Until I tune the engine this will be the solution. 1000km and no issues so far :)

The exhaust in the video doesn't look stock. Did you mean headers with stock overpipe/frontpipe/midpipe and axleback?

Ahhh I see. Didn't know that :/. Wouldn't that make a big difference in terms of sound/drone/raspy/etc comparing it to ths US 86?

Good luck with the "lean burn" AFR mod. The hydrogen fuel cell and high MPG guys are pretty big on this mod too. Just be careful that you don't let your EGT get too high while running such a lean AFR or you might melt a piston. You will lose power this way but gain mpg so if that's what you're after, good luck with it.

Woah I thought I was in a game of COD when the car started lol.

This....

Put the sparkplug defouler on the O2 AFTER the Cat...not before. Even if you throw a code for the Cat you wont run lean.

It's hard to tell from the video; how much louder did the car get vs. stock?

It got a little louder, but mostly under load. When idling it seems to be quite normal but can still make out that rumble :)

Sounds really good.
