coilover shock body height adj

How do you adjust the height on those coilovers with threaded shock bodies. Does the shock tube spin freely or do you have to unbolt the shock to spin the lower shock body?

Most coilovers have two rings that the springs sit on. Spin them up to raise it, spin them down to lower. When your done tighten them together to lock in place.

Other companies like BC have rings that the springs sit on but that's for spring preload. They also feature threads where the coil over mounts to the knuckle so that you can raise or lower the car by moving the coilovers body up and down relative to the mounting point at the knuckle.

OP is asking about coilovers where the shock adjusts height at the hub, not the spring adjusting height of the shock.

I found the answer on grimspeeds coilover diy. The height adjustment is done with the car raised, wheel off, loosen lower jam nut and spin the main shock/coil assembly to thread in or out of lower shock body.
