Transmission

Not sure if this issue was already posted but I think I got a problem with the transmission.

Sometimes the gear won't go in at all and sometimes the gears would slightly grind when i shift in at certain speeds. And no, i don't shift into first gear like a retard at times that i shouldn't be doing it. I make sure that i always push the clutch 100% during my shifts, yet it happens. Not sure what I can do about it really. Am I goin crazy or are there other FRS/BRZ's with similar transmission issues? :iono:

If you're driving the car in a normal manner and it won't go into gear, yes there's something wrong. Your car has a warranty, get it to the dealership.

Is it a gear grinding - where you can feel the teeth of the gear skipping? Or is it metallic resistance and clunking? The former is a serious problem. The latter is pretty typical of the FR-Z gearbox.

Sometimes, the gear won't go in at all into the 1st gear. I need to let go the clutch once. This happens maybe once a month.

Sometimes, the gears would slightly grind when i shift into the 2nd gear. This happens when I shift the shifter too slowly.

But these happened with all the other cars I had, so I'm not worried. Other than these, mine shifts smoothly with no weird thing.

THis is exactly what happens to me. It's not often but sometimes it does. Even when the clutch is depressed 100%.

I have the same issues u mentioned.. And have had them in other cars as well..
Sometimes thing don't line up in the transmission.. Keeping it simple here.. So you have to let the clutch out which spins everything and your not blocked out of 1st anymore.. 2nd gear syncros are slow to spin up.. Especially when cold.. But as you get more miles on it.. Things loosen up and fall in place smoothly..
The internals are still tight.. And take time to loosen up..

My second gear do the same when the car is cold. Just does not force and let the gear go smoothly.

Are you making regular back and forths between the FRS and another vehicle? If you've learned to compensate for an older vehicle or heavier vehicle it can effect your driving style.
