my driver side window makes a grind noise when I close and open my window and its leaving 2 vertical scratches. its going through the tint and everything. what should you do?

Back to the dealer she must go! Let us know what you find out so we know it's an isolated problem or wide ranged.

Didn't someone else post recently that they had the same problem and the dealer found that some felt pads that protect the window as it goes up and down had fallen off??? I think so. Should be fixed under warranty

TSB.

If it isn't safety related, it's a TSB.

Same thing! Although just one scratch closer to the front of the window. Spoke today with the AD - they scratched their heads and said that they could have look but if it's not a problem under guarantee - it would cost me circa $180 for dissassembling the door and I would expect the entire day during WE lost - something which I can hardly afford. Will likely go for it during the first servicing though.

That was me. The felt pads had separated from the window guide. The dealer took so pictures and Subaru Canada agreed to replace the window under warentee.

Look where the scratches are and the look inside the window to see if they line up with the white plastic parts.

Mine might be doing this too. It is making a squeaking noise when I roll up the windows, and you can tell there is resistance there. Like it is working harder to push the window up. Seems to be worse when it's wet outside...

Which dealer did you take it to? I have the same problem where there's a vertical scratch on the inside of my passenger window messing up my tint. I took it to Markham Subaru but they didn't do much other than just looked at it. They said they don't have any TSB from Subaru about this issue so they won't do anything at this point because the glass is not damaged only my tint... I want to try your dealership. Please let me know.

I took the car to Subaru of Maple. They took very good car of the car and had it fixed in an hour. They will have to order parts which for me took a week.

I have that too but only when wet.

hur1ey02 05-14-2013 04:28 PM

My driver's side sounds like it rubs/slams in the wet as well. Dry operation is normal.

The dealer should take care of it if that's what is causing your issue, though!

By now (6 months in use) my driver's side door window has 2 sets of fat and very noticeable scratches for the entire length of the window. On the outside. No tint but the window is severely scratched - looks very ugly :(

Brought it to the dealer claiming a warranty case and still waiting for the result of their e-mail exchange with Toyota...

Curious to understand how many cars are affected with this issue - pls post here if you have similar problem. Thanks.
