Aftermarket camber bolts safe?

I ordered the SPC camber bolts and while talking with a performance shop around me about doing the alignment (told them to just throw the bolts on while they're doing it), I was told that they don't suggest aftermarket camber bolts (and will not install them) because they've seen too many instances of them snapping. Does anyone have any experience with this? I was told they can do another modification to get 1.25-2 degrees of extra camber.

What is their "other modification?"

are they trying to sell you camber plates or are they going to slot your struts?

Wanna know that too,I m looking for some camber at the front without spend thousands of dollar. Does stock car have camber adjustment?

Definitely not camber plates based on the quote I got. Slotting the struts seems like it's probably what they're going to do. Is there anything wrong with doing this?

Nothing wrong with slotting struts. A lot of them come pre-slotted from the factory.

Not legal for SCCA stock class autocross.

Off the top of your head do you know if it's legal for ST?

Alright thanks. Since you seem to know more about this than me, would this be a bad idea or should it not be an issue?

Not an issue. KW coilovers come slotted. Neon ACR's were delivered with slotted Koni's from the factory. Slotted struts can slip, just like many other forms of camber adjustment.

Damn, I just installed the SPC bolts.
I can see it might be an issue for people that just replace the bolt with one of a smaller diameter to get camber, but quality camber bolts like the SPC should be just as strong as oem, providing they are installed and torqued correctly. There's a few hits on google for broken bolts, but most were oem and I don't see any horror stories or litigation. I'm not too worried about it.

I ran them in my WRX and STI for thousands of street miles and a lot of autocrosses (30+) and never had any issues with slippage. As long as they are installed correctly (correct hole, tab correctly inserted and torqued to the recommended spec) there shouldn't be any issues.

I run SPC camber bolts on my daily driver (GS300), 40k miles or so on them so far with no issues. It is not beat on really, but it is driven 80+ miles per day highway and city. Never had an instance of them slipping or loosening up.
