DiodeDynamics Door LED install

"THESE ARE NOT OFFICIALLY" Door LED's but the Trunk LED's. I am not saying DiodeDynamics is selling these as Door LED's but I got a tad creative on the thinking side figuring out they were the same bulb. Anyways, I hope this brings them some good revenue seeing how you can now get a complete LED package for the BRZ. They are priced VERY well and shipping is phenomenal! So fast! Reward program they have is great. I got 5 dollars off my last order.

In this install guide I used the STAGE 2 LED. To me they are not over bright but are SUBSTANTIALLY brighter than stock bulb.

Anyways on to the review and DIY.

Take small flat Head screw driver (or plastic trim removal tool) and find the wider gap area of the plastic cover. Driver side was on the bottom, passenger was on the top so opposite sides.

Pry it open to reveal this. Drivers side clip has less wiring to play with so be careful not to rip out the green wires connected to the gray plug. This plug has a small depression point on top to remove the plug from the plastic cover. Press where the screw driver in the picture is pointed at and ease it away from the cover. Do not yank away.

Once you unplug it, look inside of the cover. There is 2 halves to the cover. The smaller half (the side that resides inside the door) has 2 depression points to release the bottom of the cover. First one you need to depress is the large one pointed at with the screw driver below and make sure it remains depressed by pushing it down a little.

The flip it around and depress the smaller one on the opposite side like so.

You can now separate the two halves.

Remove the stock bulb CAREFULLY! It is in there pretty good. I pushed it out with my thumb. It will be a little harder to get out if you have larger fingers but just wiggle it out.

Once it is out, replace with the DiodeDynamics Trunk LED. You will notice a plastic stop on the connector portion. Do not worry, it is still seated correctly and will have power going to the LED.

Now before you put the two halves together, be sure to plug the connector inside the door back in to make sure it powers on correctly.

If it does, you can just assemble the other half and put back in the door.

There you have it! About 10 minutes of work for much brighter areas to step in at night! Plus the white LED is much better than stock lighting.

Thanks for posting! That is the exact same door light assembly used in the 2013 Camry and Tundra, which we have tested here and that means we know EXACTLY which lights will fit it best. We'll have the BRZ door LEDs listed on on our site shortly.

The specific bulb you used would be considered a stage 2 brightness-level replacement. Thanks again! Shoot us an email and I'd be happy to get you an extra pair for your efforts.
