Both my led drl bulbs burnt out for some reason and I was wondering if it could be from my bixenon setup??? anyone have a bixenon retrofit and running led drls? (the 9005 bulbs)

are you using the high beam splitter to get your leds to work??? I'm concerned as to whether this process could have shorted my bulbs out

Yeah running the splitters from TRS.. Some bulbs do short out.. They run hot.. Very hot, and I've seen them melt the solder and short out

Cheap bulbs run hot. LEDs should NOT be hot

Ive dealt with some really high end LED, and they run hot to, even with the proper heat sinks, they are still turning energy into light so making heat.. it needs to run as cool as possible, but when you make a 120 chip circuit in such a small package, they are going to get hot

I think the difference lies in what we mean by hot.

I know heat is produced. Just mean they should not run hotter than traditional bulbs or HID's if the unit is built properly.

My LED's are from concept3led. A vender here on the site.. I believe he has his products in the group buy section..
