Koni SA settings for autocross
RT class with setup in my signature. I have my first event in the car at Grissom on the 13th. Any feed back for a starting setup on the shock settings would be gretly appreciated. Thanks.

Any one?

Welcome to the fun part of owning a relatively new car.

Welcome to the fun part of developing a new car that LOTS of people are developing and probably don't want to share their setups for. :)

I need to re-measure my settings to confirm these but mine are working well at I believe .5 turns from soft up front and 1.25 from hard in rear.
Note I measured from different ends but that's because I did testing by starting full soft front and full stiff rear. These likely will need tweaking for your own style, surface, tires and the fact that you use FR-S springs as I did this with a BRZ with different tires in a public parking lot autocross |

Yeah, I don't mean to be a **** about it. I come from HS for the past 3 years, where we share EVERYTHING, right down to letting people borrow sway bars to make them legal haha.
But I just spent all Saturday making adjustments to our RTR car. Did 10 runs to make sure we had the course down and had a good baseline, then tuned the car to be 1.1 seconds faster. Not sure I want to show my cards at this point haha. Best of luck though! |
Yup, I come from a STC/GS background in the Celica. LOTS of information shared, lots of collaboration, not really any secrets. Of course it's an older car, so there's not really any secrets at this point.

I wish others would share their data. I'll be happy to discuss my findings. I think we'll get the car faster, quicker, if we all share data.

The way I look at sharing is if someone else can setup their car the same as me and run faster then I wasn't the better driver and don't deserve to win. I know car and setup is part of racing but I would rather compete in a class where it is as much about the driver as possible and not the car.
Kido1986 brings up a good point too...if we want to beat the MS-R cars cooperating will get us there quicker. One of my favorite quotes is, "We can be incrementally better by being competitive though we can be exponentially better by being cooperative." |
