Pop-Start with Push-Button Start

My small engines class and I were wondering if it is possible to pop-start a BRZ with the push button start by rolling it down a hill and popping it in gear. Any thoughts or experiences with it?

If it has a manual trans, then yes. Think of your push button start like a key. Instead of twisting, you push.

Also, my CBR 600 was a push button start, had to roll start it a few times with no issues.

If the car still has a working battery with a charge, press the start button twice without pushing the clutch in to start all electronics. Push the clutch in, set the car to 2nd gear, have people push the car, pop the clutch, drive away.

I'm not even certain you need the battery to have a charge. You can just pop start it like you normally would.

hvnt popped brz but popped a keyless 08 sti with same system. Double click to the starting ceremony and the u can pop the clutch.
However, the cluster will go blinking like there's Ecu error and ABS and traction control not working, but there's still boost. To fix this, you need to shut down the car and complete another starting ceremony and wait. Once everything ready u start the car in a normal way then everything goes back to normal.

In short don't do it unless its necessary.

I was wondering about all of the electronics including the direct injection system. I guess that it gets started up on crankshaft rotation. Thanks; I'll share your feedback with my class.
