FRont back up lights

is there a way to convert the front LED to be use as day running light?

I just realize that lights only on when u shift reverse! :(

Are you talking about your front turn signals ? Because mine are white led and they are on all the time , just click the knob once just before the headlights and they will stay on and then when turning they will stay illuminated but blink brighter

He has a BRZ, so his lights are different than yours.

I have no idea what you are talking about. The LED strip above the fog lights are daytime running lights; they shut off when your head lights are on. There's the 'boomerang' lights in the headlight housing that act as parking lights (they are turn on in the 'parkling light' setting on the stalk or when the head lights are on.

There are no other LED lights in the front, and none that come on when you shift into reverse. Can you explain what you are talking about?

That strip you are talking about are the daytime running lights (DRL). They should be on any time the car is running and the headlights are not on.

In this picture the car is running, and the stalk is set to the 'parking lights' setting. Therefore the boomerang parking lights are on (and the headlights aren't). Also, the DRLs are on because the headlights are on.

I may be mistaken, but I think the DRLs also shut off when the ebrake is engaged. But they should always be on when driving and the headlights aren't on.

If the headlights are off, it will turn on automatically when the parking break is off and car is shifted out of park (if you have an automatic)

That is correct.

That is weird. I have no idea what is going on, but if the headlights and ebrake are off (and the car is running), the LED strip should be on regardless of gear.

This could be the missing info. I'm not sure how the automatics work but I suspect that in park the driving lights would shut themselves off.

Here's what I think now. The OP has an automatic and a garage. When he starts the car in the garage and puts the car in reverse, he sees the reflection of the DRLs off of the garage wall.

That's what I think too. It would look like the reverse lights turn on with front lights under those conditions!

Yeah I've tried to wire them into headlights but not only are they insanely bright at night, the wiring is difficult. But this might help:

LED lights on when-
Engine must always be running
1. Headlights off (in position 1 or 2 not 3)
2. Car is not in park gear
3. Parking brake down

LED DRLs turn on when the handbrake is released and the car is in gear. That's why you're seeing them turn on when you shift into reverse. They remain on when you shift the car into D and will turn back OFF when you shift into park.

Yes, they turn OFF when the headlights are on. But considering how bright the LEDs are at night, you do not want them on. Otherwise you're just being a **** to the person in front of you. That's why you never see LEDs on with headlights for cars like Audi as well. You're LEDs work as intended. There's nothing wrong with them.
