Want a drop without losing ground clearance

So far the least aggressive drop i see is the eibach pros i believe? I just want to get rid of the wheel gap with 18 inch wheels will I negate the ground clearance lost on the drop??? any other spring recommendations for maybe even a smaller amount of drop?

Our RCE Yellow springs lower a hair less than Eibach Pro-Kit. 20mm drop front and rear, just under an inch. We also include replacement bumpstops like Eibach. Lots of happy customers.

Quick and dirty math shows a 235/40/18 would be aprox 20mm taller than the stock wheel/tire combo.

That would be only a 10mm drop in ground clearance with the RCE Yellows.

awesome i willbe contacting u guys as soon as i get some wheels :), hate wheel gap but my driveway is steep and my speed bumps are ridiculous

Lemme guess, you want your cake & eat it too? Lol

Seriously, even with 18s, you'll need to make concessions one way or the other.

+1 for RCE Yellows

Your math is off, stock is 215/45/17 to move to an 18" rim typically you'd run 225/40/18 to maintain speedometer accuracy. 10mm extra width is not going to result in 20mm taller than stock. Going with 225/45/18 could work at the expense of speedometer accuracy.

Yep. @Racecomp Engineering knows what their talking about.

His math is slightly off but it's almost there. A 235/40-18 has a diameter of 25.4 inches and the stock 215/45-17's have a diameter of 24.6 inches. That's a total diameter difference of ~20mm. But, only half of that contributes to ride height, so it would bring it back up 10mm for a 10mm total drop.

Either way, the speedo is jacked and the car is going to be more sluggish as the gearing has been altered.

Changing tire size to compensate for ride height is not the greatest idea. Either deal with a lower ride height or deal with the gap, or find some compromise between the two (mild drop) that makes things livable. Screwing up the gearing and speedo isn't really a good option.

He never asked about speedo accuracy. Obviously going from 625.3mm dia (stock) to 645.2mm dia (235/40/18) would goof it, but that wasn't his question.
