In the middle of bishops bend at Sebring the car stumbled and the CEL popped up. Not the normal code that I was expecting.

See attached for code. I can't resize as these are iPhone pics :(

I thought I dodge the bullet crossing the 10k mark, 7k more miles here I come!!
Wow this is the first time seeing a CEL that's not the normal... U know. I won't say it.

Guessing you already have this, but here it is for others
On the plus side oil temps haven't gone past 235F based on the gauge (sender right after the cooler).
And she fixes herself. Fifth time starting it since it happened and no cel.
And why?
...probably because racecar! |
Glad it fixed itself.
My guess is the heat under the hood caused a coil issue and you had a misfire. If the problem isn't replicated in so many cycles the light will go off.
But, WTF do I know? |
At least we know the car does a good job of protecting itself from damage/overheating
that is a sign that the more track based car are going to need upgraded coils to withstand the extra heat and abuse... one thing you could try for now is attach a heat sync to the top of the coil the nice thing cpu heat sync is prolly very easy to convert to work and not to mention cheap.
And it came back.
And I doubt it's heat related. Happened 10-15 minutes into the session and lasted 5 30 minute sessions before and 1.5 after. I think it's just a bad coil. LD's car did fine with the same usage this weekend.
