RCE yellow springs. Expected alignment settings after install.

Am considering the RCE yellows after reading the numerous reviews on here. Just trying to determine whether I need the camber/castor correction add ons as well.

What are the expected alignment specs I will see after putting the springs in? I don't want to buy things unless I need them, but at the same time I don't want to install the springs, get the car up on the hoist and find the alignment is not ideal.

Cheers

Well I had Litchfield here in the UK install some similar drop springs on mine. They know their setups well and was told that it wasn't necessary for that kind of drop. If you want any form of adjustability for changing for tracks/road etc then it may be worth doing. If you want to "set and forget" then the OEM setup will do. Obviously it depends on what you want the settings at in the 1st place though!

should be no camber change in the front. So 0 camber front.

I saw -1.5 to -2.0 in rear

To OP: to avoid increasing understeer with the added negative camber in the rear, consider some OEM crash bolts and possibly camber plates to help increase negative camber in front as well.

I did the Racecomp Engineering springs with Whiteline camber bolts on my car. I ended up with 1.6/2.0 neg in rear, and had it adjusted to 1 3/8 neg in front. You can see photos in my build thread if your are interested.

Thanks for the info guys. What about toe?

whataboutbob 02-24-2013 03:13 PM

Zero all around on mine. Plus 8 on the caster on the front with the Whiteline front LCA caster/dive bushing.

For toe, I'm going to shoot for 0 in front, and slightly positive in the rear for braking stability.
