Dead spot when changing from 1st to 2nd?
Hey guys, has anyone experienced a dead spot when snap-changing from 1st to 2nd? I've noticed this happen even in Sport mode, so traction control would have been off. It's happened to me twice so far - changing up from 1st at about 7,000, it moves to about 5,000 in second which should be in the optimal power band, but went dead before coming alive again.

Nope, snap changing from 1st to 2nd results in the rear wheels spinning up, no flat spots...

Mine had a throttle delay that gradually improved and was good by about 1,000km. Could it be that, with the ECU learning? |
About 2,500 km, engine has already been run in :) doesn't happen all the time, but I've noticed it twice so far.

In sports mode the stability control might still cut the power if the back wheels were losing it big time? |
Manual says in sports mode SC is still on but less sensitive...?

How do you turn the feature on properly? Is it just a matter for pressing the button?

Hold Traction Control (left button) in for 3 seconds and all are completely off. Press same button once when stationary and TC is off untill you get to 50kmph (for mud and snow). Press Sport button (right) once and Sport mode is on...

Vcs/sport button? Hold it down or the trac button?

Hi Mike
I haven't noticed any issues on mine either. Like Sav, I happily spin from 1st to 2nd and even 2nd to 3rd without dead spots and with nanny aids on. Sounds like it might be a fuel injection issue which i've heard is also responsible for the Check Engine Light (CEL) issue that a lot of other members are experiencing. :iono: What might be useful is, if you have a smart phone, to get yourself an OBD ii device and see if the car is reporting any error codes? I think that if it were the nanny controls causing this then they'd be flashing whenever this issue occurred. Good luck. |
Is this a flat spot? I have found giving it a blip between changes my compensate. My first test drive was met with the dealer power-shifting aggressively. the car had less than 100km!
