Engine oil standard operating temperature

I've looked through the manuals but I can't find the recommend max operating temps. Trying to understand when I should be concerned when tracking the car.

Thanks

When the engine oil temp climbs up to 100 degree celcius, you start to lose power.

I believe normal is between 90-100C. I would start worrying if it gets above 120C and seriously consider getting an oil cooler.

mine usually sits around 200F depending on outside temps, and revs. but 200F +-10F

On the street I assume?

On track I'd guess the stock car is 270-300 all day long based on similar cars.

you are correct

Is this what you experienced while tracking your car?

Give these a read:

I live in socal and average daily driving from home to work or back home its anywhere from 190-210F. On track that Ive tracked 3 times average is 240-250F

Op, if I can borrow your thread for a second....can anyone direct me to a how-to for installing oil temp/pressure gauge??

Same question as above. On the block there is one space for a sensor. other sensor will go below the oil filter in a sandwich. So which sensor on which position?

According to dash command my avg dd temp is 170f and 190f on the track. I have an oil cooler, upgraded radiator and all the goodies that come with

You want to keep above about 40psi at high rpm

so if your running 0w20 once temps get to 225F you starting to get into that low 40psi range.

I easily could hit 270F (100% stock) after a day of tracking in 80F weather. This was with 10min~avg sessions with 15min cooldowns between drives... rinse and repeat as many time until sun-down.

The car will start to pull timing after the oil hits 220F.

Before tracking her, go switch to a heavier oil. 0w20 is fine for daily grinds but, it loose's it's pressure when it gets past 240F.
