TyperRspec789's Full Blown Stage 1 Base Turbo & e85 Progress and Testing

Hello Guys & Gals, I know my car has two threads by Pure Automotive already posted in the FI forum, but I want to make a more organized thread on the progress on my car. Just trying to filter out all the questions, leaving this thread for all the answers summarized through videos and pictures. I will be updating and posting all the testing of the Full Blown kit that I do from time to time. I feel that a forum needs this unbiased 3rd party view of these products. For the [long] list of mods, please refer to my signature.

Special thanks to @FullBlown and @Pure Automotive

Turbo Lag, 60-100mph and 60-120mph Testing
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1zROeHNzjg"]Scion FRS Full Blown Stage 1 Base Turbo Testing- Lag, 60-100mph, 60-120mph - YouTube[/ame]

60ft Time- Notes: Very subpar, but with the cold tires and cold ground and "skinny" 245 Hankook Ventus tires, it's decent. With a better setup that can actually hold traction, the launches would be much much better.

0-50mph- Notes: The car still maintains its 7400rpm redline with the base map tune making so that you still have to shift into 3rd gear for 60mph. I would like to see if LJ could raise the 2nd gear redline to 7800rpm so that I could get this car under 5 seconds.

0-57mph- Notes: This is as close of a 0-60mph time I can get for the forum. Again, this is with a 2.5 sec 60ft with cold summer tires. Once the weather warms up and I get fatter/more aggressive tires in combination of a raised 2nd gear rpm limit, this car should do <4.7sec 0-60mph.

Gas Mileage- Notes: This tank was done with mostly "normal" driving. "Normal" driving can be summarized and defined as 10mph above speed limit in both highway and city. This is actually the same tank that was used for the 0-57/60-100/60-120mph testing. This is a calculated 25.96mpg.

Russ needs to roll up on some Caymans...Carreras...see what happens.

Car is tearing it up. Sounds good, lag is very minimal from what I can see. What a riot it must be!

Updated with 60ft, 0-50mph, and 0-57mph times. This is using a GTech Pro.

How come you aren't tuned out to 8000rpm or a little above like the other kits?

Is it your fuel or something that is stopping you or just personal preference?

Thanks,

Thanks,

@FullBlown correct me if I'm wrong here, but from what I saw on the dyno, the car doesn't really make any more power at redline, it actually falls off a bit, and I don't believe in revving a car past where it stops making power.

Thanks,

It's just the way the base map is. The base map provided by Full Blown is not a "live" tune like the Visconti turbo cars. Visconti was physically in their cars on the dyno. LJ graciously sends a base tune for his kit. At this point, I'm his beta tester for the alterations on the base map- I have requested a 7800rpm tune and have the e85 tune on its way.

And to add, I don't feel safe running the car to 8000rpm and above. Although I respect Visconti and his work (I personally had him dyno tune my stage 1 and e85 NA tunes), I just think something is being overlooked. Yeah, the heads are very much up to par to handle the extra rpms, but I kinda think the rods and piston wrist pins are taking a beating. Especially when running boost. That's just my opinion though.
