Does someone try Carbon Dynamic Air box from BMC ?
Hello,
First of all, my english is not great and I don't know all technical words to tell about this. Please forgive me ! In one my past car, I replace the air box with a BMC CDA : http://www.bmcairfilters.com/cgi-bin.../CoppiaCDA.jpg http://www.bmcairfilters.com/cgi-bin...DAStandard.jpg It was just fitting the space form the original box. http://www.astra-coupe.be/images/images/kem2.jpg It was a small 1.6 liter engine but with a custom remap and this part, it goes from 153 Nm to 169 Nm and from 103 HP to 113 Hp. http://www.astra-coupe.be/images/images/kem7.jpg According to me, it was a nice upgrade for my old small car. :w00t: I was wondering if using a BMC placed in the axle of the air intake with some kind of adapter from cylinder to a large flat schnorchel could give a nice power/torque bump. PS : I search for BMC and CDA but I got no answer. :search: |
If the airbox flows better than the stock unit then yes you may get a small increase. I think a custom remap will yeild the biggest results though. There is a good chance very few people have done this specific mod as yet so maybe you should try and let us know how it goes?

I'm still waiting for my BRZ ! She's on the boat... I will ask to th guy who already tune some of my past car what he thinks about this. BTW, I dont't know if he is still active.
If I make some modifications on the car, I will post dyno before and after. :) PS : The dyno chart I have posted was with BMC and remap. |
Let us know how it goes!
By the way, your english is much better than my french haha |
The factory intake has been shown to be very efficient. I wouldn't bother with the BMC.
