As a yankee that wishes he could get a GT86 instead of an FRS, let me say congrats, enjoy it, and I'm extremely jealous.

Nothing!!!

Very nice! My vote for mods would be wheels and suspension first.

Exhaust!
It took me just 30minutes, without jacking it up, to fit a Nameless axle back.
It feels half the weight and looks as if it was always meant to be there.
Sounds sensational. Not too loud but you really appreciate what a sweet engine this is, especially when it gets on the cam and the intake joins in with the exhaust. Every time it goes up over 4000rpm, even on 1/3 or 1/2 throttle, it pulls like a train but sounds like a true race bred motor, which it is.
I can't wait to fit the over pipe and down pipe with the HF cat to release a bit more top end rush and low down, 1-3000rpm torque.

Nothing really, just trim level things that I could get from factory instead of having to add on myself later like:

GT86 style autoleveling HID Headlights (These are apparently something like 1k a piece from factory!)
Frameless Rear View Mirror
Door Puddle Light
Trunk Lid Liner
Push to Start
Fog Lights
Badging

All of that stuff isn't even available as an option on the Scion for whatever reason :iono: and I don't want to step into a BRZ because I prefer the front end and suspension setup of the FRS.

BUT as far as the drive goes the FRS is still amazing, which is why I'm really looking to buy one then turn it into a GT86 wannabe over time :w00t:

ETA- Getting back on topic: I'd suggest Tint and Stickier Tires to start, then performance when you're ready!

Frostyman 01-15-2013 10:16 AM

Tint yes! Tires, no.
This car is immeasurably more fun with the stock tires, until you start to increase the power output.

The stock tyres on the GT spec in Australia are not fun they are awful

If they are like the FR-S tires, I vote for new tires. I get the idea of the fun, drifting, sliding, etc... aspect of the FR-S Michelin Primacy but I am left unimpressed. I've given them a fair chance keeping an attitude of fun in mind. But I'm just disappointed. In braking and turning these tires just lack adequate performance. I've made no modifications to my car, but tires will come first and I may not be able to wait until these wear out.

It comes with 205 tyres which have less grip than the 215 Michelin's fitted to the FRS and the GTS models.

The GT model in Australia is a bare bones spec. Your FRS has some better features like bigger brakes and bigger alloys. The GTS model in Australia is the same as the GT model that most people are referring to elsewhere in the world, it comes with LED running lights etc. Toyota Australia just wanted to confuse everyone. :)
