Wanting a Slight Drop without Voiding the Warranty**
hey guys so im getting aftermarket Miro 111s 18 inch wheels staggered setup in the next two months.... the car is going to sit a little high for my taste as i have seen on pictures so i was thinking about doing a slight drop with some springs. im not looking to track the car at all just street racing on the way home on the highway haha. im pretty sure that if i replace the springs then the whole warranty with the suspension will be voided but i could always replace the stock springs and bring it into the dealer to get fixed if anything happens. What springs would you guys reccommend that are durable and have a good reputation, looking for about an inch drop nothing more than that.
Also if anyone has any reccomendations on the warranty or info of what to do if anything happens to the suspension please let me know because that is my main concern !!! *** THANKS ! |
Find a dealership that will install springs for you. It will cost a lot compared to a local speed shop, or doing it yourself but then they would warranty the work. Im sure there are dealerships out there that would do a TRD spring for you no problem.

maybe the ones they put on the five axis body kit |
TRD springs are only a .6" drop FWIW. And your warranty for the suspension would only be voided if their is a problem that comes up due to the part.

Really, with a drop the only warranty part would likely ever go bad would be a strut. To date I think the only strut failures have been from improper install. But, keep in mind that you will likely reduce the life of the OEM strut if you put a lowering spring on it. What that life reduction is, is currently unknown. I'd say it's usually cut in half. |
Could you guys give me a link to some good springs , what would I need for the install bc I know they sell the springs only or springs and camber plates etc
|
You'd need springs only basically. Some come with bumpstops, some require you to cut the stock ones.
I recommend RCE yellows. However any/all springs are going to be fine if all you care about is the car being lower. If you care about performance, its a slightly different story. |

and just regular RCE Yellow Springs i would get, i know they come with bump stops which i have no clue what that is lol |
If I were you I would start reading through some suspension basics before ordering springs.
I could answer your questions, but I think you need to absorb that information and understand the system prior to ordering because different springs will make the car feel differently. Hop into the suspension forums and start reading everything you can. :) Eibach and RCE seem to be the two most commonly purchased atm, but TRD or STI are also options but more expensive. |
