HID Relay needed?

I purchased an HID kit less then a month ago. Product has a 2 year warranty on it. Apparently burned a ballast. I am interested to know if I need an HID relay. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!:thanks:

or even a canbus or harness... not really too sure amongst the difference but still need a solution to prevent further damage or faulting

i dont think u need a relay on HID. probably low quality ballast? thats the 1st time i heard burning of ballast. somebody told me that if u plug the HID on correct polarity since toyota cars needs to be reverse polarity, u would blow up ur lighting fuse. :iono:

you buy a shitty DDMtuning kit or what?

Someone else on the forums got a faulty ballast from a vendor and just got it replaced (under warranty from the seller). I'm thinking you're having the same problem. What happens when you try to turn on the headlights? Does one side flicker and then just not turn on?

its an autovision 35w kit and the passenger side ballast does not flicker or do anything and the driver side turns on and stays solid with no flickering.

Has the HID on the faulty side ever worked? It could be the reverse polarity issue. Try flipping it around.

No need for a relay on the HIDs I bought from @KI_ZN6 a.k.a. HID_Powerhouse.

Haven't heard of Autovision, is it the digital slim ballasts? It just sounds like a bad ballast to me, it happens even with the more expensive German kits. Get a replacement and you should be fine. If you're really worried about the relays, you can get a complete new kit from one of the vendors here on the forums - they're all high quality kits with no need for a relay, plus a lot of us have already bought and tried the vendor kits so you know they'll work w/o relay.

Same here. If you need to buy a replacement, I'd highly recommend buying from Ken @KI_ZN6. If you have any issues, he'll take care of you.

Our HID kits do not require running any relay harnesses. Relay harnesses are commonly used for vehicles that utilize high/low beam headlight setups or if there are wire modifications to the headlights.

If you have warrnty issues and have to buy new go with Ken from hidpowerhouse.
Should have no drama.
