Folding down the backseat.

Dumb question, I've been trying to fold down the backseats to extend the trunk but I can't figure it out. How do I do this? :iono:

There's two lanyard-type things on the rear of the seat in the trunk, one on the left and one on the right side. Pull both.

gotta do it from in the trunk, took me a few the first time to.

Release latches on the top inside the car, or pull cords in the trunk. Need to pull BOTH sides to get it to release.

And make sure the driver and passenger seat are moved forward enough to fold the back seat down completely :bonk:

I believe only the trunk cords actually release the seat, otherwise you would not have a locked compartment from the cockpit.

Option 1: go to the dealership, give them $100 they'll do it for you ;)
Option 2: find anyone on the street, give them $50, they'll do it for you ;)

You have to pull and push at the same time on tiny levers, while simultaneously moving the front seats forward and maintaining your balance while you are squeezed through a two foot opening and navigating between the junk that fills your trunk. Easy.

Never been back there to check, but I thought there were some latches near the top corners of the seat, basically right where the pull cords are. Could be wrong, but thought there were.

Step 1 - Do as the posters above have said and use the cords in the trunk.
Step 2 - RTFM so you can avoid similar future posts such as why you can't open your trunk without the key.

... are you serious? The entire reason I need to fold my seats down is because the trunk won't open! :(

I'm hoping I'll find some advice somewhere around here. =/

Please go down these steps accordingly until your trunk is open

1. Try hitting the button on the trunk itself
2. Hit the button on the dash to open the trunk
3 use the button on your key fob to open the trunk
4. Use the physical key located in the key fob to open the trunk with the key hole
5. Noe that your trunk is open make sure you didn't accidentally hit the valet parking button located on the left side inside your trunk.
6. Don't feel bad I didn't know the valet parking button existed either.

THANK YOU - you were right it was the Valet button X__X (stuff in the trunk rolled around and hit it I think)

If you're inside the car you can pull up the rod that's in the back seat to fold down the back seats. It's located on top of the seat, at each side next to the seat belt strap. Remove the plastic housing and you'll see a red rod on each side
