those rubber plugs for under the side sills...
they didn't install these for me during PDI, i found them in the glove box so i put them in myself. what is the purpose of plugging those holes though?
Keeps water, salt, and dirt out of the frame of your car.
Mine weren't installed either. My friend put them in for me after he found them. He said the same thing. Keeps stuff out of the frame.
Put mine in yesterday, a day after getting my FRS. Found out about them on here. Still got grease all over my hands.
Can we have a pic of the plugs and where they go?
on the second gen Lexus GS they can create an interesting wind noise. Stupid fact of the day.
why are they unplugged in the first place?
on Lexus models they use those holes to chain them down while transporting them.
pictures or link to thread? I never checked to see if these rubber plugs were installed or not.

Yeah for real I'd like to know where to put these !!
Feel/look under your car right in front of the rear wheels on each side. It should be obvious if you know where to look.

Less helpful, but interesting, the friend that put mine in for me found their location instantly. Someone else mentioned he got grease on his hands after only a day. I made a comment about the car supposedly being clean for only being a couple days old when my friend put them in, but he also got grease on his hands. Guess the purpose they serve is actually pretty important if it gets dirty down there that fast. |
Pics please! Worried mine weren't put in!
