DDM HID Problem

So I installed the 35w 6K DDM tuning kit and it looks great. However, when turning on my headlights the passenger side bulb does not turn on on the first try. I have to flick my lights on and off 2-3 times before they come on. Will check connections tomorrow but has anyone dealt with this problem or have any idea of what might be going on?

bad ballast

Ive had this same exact problem, passenger side too, if i turn them on with the engine off they go on like they should, but once i turn the engine on while the lights are starting up the passenger side starts flickering rapidly until its fully warmed up and sometimes it just goes out.

Bad ballast or faulty connection. Eliminate the connection possibility by swapping ballasts right and left.

I had a ballast just go on me after a few weeks from my vendor on eBay from Quebec. They immediately sent me a replacement.

I suspect the cheap HID packages are not so reliable. But, for the price they look and perform the same normally, so worth trying.

It helps if the vendor backs their product.

probably a cheaply made ballast, how much did you pay for them ? go with a high quality HID and you wont be disappointed

luckily, the DDM guys tend to stand behind their cheap product and usually offer an rma/partial replacement free of charge. Just give them a call.

Agreed! I would definitely go with something of high quality as you end up spending less when investing in a quality HID conversion kit.

I have yet to see a quality hid kit. Quality is phillips, denso, matsushita, bosch etc..

Try out HID_Powerhouse's products, they are the best i have tried thus far. no flickering and have a great projectile

If you want to be sure it's the ballast you could first swap the bulbs and test.
If the problem stays on the same side then you know it's likely the ballast.
I've seen bulbs do things like this too.

Had the same issue with the H11's flickering, but it took away my problem from having to run the daylight running lights all the time. I haven't face any issues putting them in brights both work at the same time with no flick, but one will flick on one side of the other when you run daylights. So, I just let my ebrake down slowly so neither will flick on either side, which will have both remaining off.

I live a couple a miles from DDM. I've used 3 of their kits and I've had problems with all of them from flickering to bad connections. In honesty, you get what you pay for ($35). They will replace anything faulty in regards to ballasts so if you really want to deal with it rather than getting quality kits, then you can do that.

I would just go down to the shop and talk to them. I had a problem with mine, they helped me troubleshoot and fix the problem. Very nice people.
