Passenger Window Switchs Out

I went to roll down my windows today on my FR-S and was unpleasantly surprised to find that the passenger side window wouldn't roll down. The backlights to both of the switches for the passenger side window were out and neither were responsive...

Anyone else have this problem? Could it be a fuse or loose wire in the harness?

always check your fuses first :-)

i'm having a similar issue. My pass. window wont roll down with the driver switch, but will with the pass. switch. The other annoying thing about it, is that I have to adjust it with every time I get in, because the window doesn't automatically go all the way back up

Try this:

Put car to on, engine off. Push and hold button down until window rolls down and you hear a click. Then hold window button up until it rolls up and you hear a click.

I tried that ABQ, but my window wont go up or down on the passenger side with the driver's switch

Take it to the dealer, the sooner the better.

On my Lexus you have to do it from each door switch itself. So in this case do this from the passenger door window switch. Door has to be closed too.

The child safety locks were on... apparently they also turn off the backlights of the switches...

I feel dumb now, even though the guy at the dealer said this wasn't the first time someone's done this....

Worked this time thank you!

This is the fix to the symptom, had this happen to me last week when it got below freezing after a rain. Didn't know about this fix the, so it went to the dealer. Happened again this morning under the same circumstances, but this time I did some online research and found the above.

As a side note, I called the tech at the dealer that worked on my car and he's going to contact Subaru to see what they can suggest since I identified the source of the issue for him. I inquired about either reprogramming so the windows don't drop the 1/2" when the door opens, or disconnect the door-open sensor the windows monitor, but he said the windows when fully raised sit in channel what would bind when you went to open the door with the windows fully up (and might break the window).
