BRZ Backup Cameras- a List

I was trying to decide which camera to buy and looked at the posts by guys who have installed one which were really helpful.

I thought a list of the different cameras that were installed would be helpful.

Also, if people who have installed a camera could post info about their camera I can update this list.

If you could post a picture of the installed camera and some screenshots of the HU showing the picture quality day and night that would be helpful (or a link to your install).

For this list- here's the camera model followed by who installed it.

1. Kenwood CMOS-210: TSY
2. Rydeen Duo: Sure74, sparks
3. Boyo VTK 200c: xcelir8brz
4. Rydeen MiNY: Flat Black VW
5. Boyo Ultra Slim: Foobar
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Yeah sorry about that, deal with all of the Rydeen cameras a lot at work and that just slipped up on me.

No Prob. I probably would have taken you up on your offer if I hadn't bought my camera. The Rydeen cameras seem like good cameras.

As far as I know, no one has been able to disable the parking lines from the Head unit.

Once you get it installed post up some pics and I'll add you to the list!

Cheapo:

BOYO:

Anyone tried this camera or the BOYO that looks similar? I'm not trying to be cheap just prefer the rounded camera shapes that look more like the stock ones found on other cars.

The lines on the screen are likely put on by the camera. That's what I was told anyway. YMMV.

I have the "Cheapo" type one you listed. But I got it on Amazon.com for $20.00. Here's a link to my post-install summary of it:

I have a direct link to the camera as well as some other stuff I bought when switching out my HU (that may not apply to the BRZ folks) on there as well.

I like the camera since it is barely noticeable. Also, the length of the cable provided is definitely long enough. If you mount yours off to the side like I saw one pictured in this thread, you *might* need to add on some wire to connect the power to the reverse light wire.

Also, putting the cable and stuff through the rubber connecting grommet/hose thing was a massive PITA. My advice is to use lubricant.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

Thx that helps out a lot, looks good on the car I'll just have to find one with the right angle. The first thing i considered changing was the head unit as well just haven't decided if I need to since all the gps etc I just let feed from my phone. :thanks:

Yeah, the angle and mounting position makes it a little annoying, but if it was tilted more, it would not be quite as precise. Although I would like it to point more rearward than downward in the case of our cars.

I think this is the most detailed one I have seen yet, would be helpful if added.
