BRZ Backup Cameras- a List
I was trying to decide which camera to buy and looked at the posts by guys who have installed one which were really helpful.
I thought a list of the different cameras that were installed would be helpful. Also, if people who have installed a camera could post info about their camera I can update this list. If you could post a picture of the installed camera and some screenshots of the HU showing the picture quality day and night that would be helpful (or a link to your install). For this list- here's the camera model followed by who installed it. 1. Kenwood CMOS-210: TSY 2. Rydeen Duo: Sure74, sparks 3. Boyo VTK 200c: xcelir8brz 4. Rydeen MiNY: Flat Black VW 5. Boyo Ultra Slim: Foobar 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. |
Here's a link to my install of my Kenwood CMOS-210:

Cheapo:

The lines on the screen are likely put on by the camera. That's what I was told anyway. YMMV.
I have the "Cheapo" type one you listed. But I got it on Amazon.com for $20.00. Here's a link to my post-install summary of it: http://www.myhachiroku.com/?p=58 I have a direct link to the camera as well as some other stuff I bought when switching out my HU (that may not apply to the BRZ folks) on there as well. I like the camera since it is barely noticeable. Also, the length of the cable provided is definitely long enough. If you mount yours off to the side like I saw one pictured in this thread, you *might* need to add on some wire to connect the power to the reverse light wire. Also, putting the cable and stuff through the rubber connecting grommet/hose thing was a massive PITA. My advice is to use lubricant. Anyway, I hope that helps. |

I think this is the most detailed one I have seen yet, would be helpful if added.
