headunit size
i know our headunit is not a traditional size, but what are the dimensions exactly? looking to change it out without adapters on the sides
|
It's about 20mm wider then a standard double dinn, and a few mm taller.
Kenwood make a headunit that fits perfectly, model number KENWOOD DDX630WBT http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...74608216_n.jpg |

is this headunit applicable for U.S. spec vehicles? has anyone here had any luck in the USA with this?

I guess because I'm a new member, I can't start my own thread. I'm trying to figure out what wiring harness/spacers are necessary to mount an aftermarket double-DIN HU. I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything relevant that looked helpful.
I found this on eBay, just wondering what other forumers used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCION-FR-S-2...336#vi-content I just want the basics - plug-and-play (no splicing), and I'd like to retain the USB/Aux input if possible. |

As for USB/Aux retention, you will have to modify your car and head unit. There is a DIY thread on the forums about it (I can't remember where). |
