Pulley install issue
When installing a lightweight pulley, has anyone pulled out the crank snout? I put the Perrin pulley on and was pulling it off to set it down for a second and it pulled out what I imagine is the crank snout. I pushed it back in and finished the install, but I'm kind of scared to fire the car up. Has anyone has this happen?

Did you take any pics? Check out the DIY section and see if you see it in the factory shop manual online.

It's the pulley spacer.

Thank you sirs, just looked in the service manual and it is the pulley spacer. Guess I'm good to go!
|
Just make sure you didn't forget to put the o-ring back on!
|
I just took everything apart again and the o-ring is still in place and seated properly so hopefully everything is fine!

I suppose that was a major "Oh Shit" moment. Thanks for posting up, I won't freak out if it happens to me.
|
It definitely was, I'll probably be rechecking the bolt with my torque wrench pretty frequently for a while. :) I triple checked the belt to ensure that it was seated properly on the pulleys and watched the crank pulley for any sign of wobble. Hopefully my Invidia catback install tomorrow night is much less eventful (should be)!

Only problem with the N1 is the silencers won't fit.
|
Not a problem, didn't plan on running them anyway. :)
