JWMotoring LED light replacements
This is going to be a how to and a review for these lights. They provided me with a
Map light in white, blue, and green Trunk light in white, blue and green and rear plate lights in white First off dealing with JWMotoring was very pleasant, they got the LED's to me in a timely manner. And I have had no problems with the LED's. They where sent USPS in a well padded package. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2406.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2403.jpg Installing the Map light was simple , I used a small flathead screw driver to remove the plastic cover, note you tilt move the rear view mirror backwards. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2399.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2397.jpg] once the cover is off it should look like this, I removed the bulb already, also if you had your light on for any length of time you might grab it with some gloves cause it will be a little toasty http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2400.jpg Take your new LED light pull off the adhesive from the back and stick it in the corner where there is a chunk of clean black plastic, and squeeze the metal pieces together and put the contacts in the place of the old light. note the black wire side should be towards the rear of the car http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2411.jpg stock http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2395.jpg white http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2404.jpg blue http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2407.jpg green http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2410.jpg the plate lights are even simpler. open trunk http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2414.jpg take the light assy and twist it to release holder http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2415.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2416.jpg remove the bulb by slide it out http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2418.jpg reinsert the opposite way you removed stock http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2413.jpg comparison http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2419.jpg replaced white http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2420.jpg as far as the trunk its more difficult then the others but still pretty easy I found it easier to twist the assy to remove it http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2423.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2424.jpg remove the light assy by squeezing the tab and pulling apart http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2425.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2426.jpg take your flathead screwdriver and push in the tabs on the side to expose the bulb. this is the exact same bulb in the plate lights so remove the same http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2427.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2418.jpg note you can put them in backwards and they wont work so if the light doesnt come on then remove and rotate 180 degrees reverse the way you removed it and bam stock http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2422.jpg white http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2428.jpg blue http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2431.jpg green http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...3/DSC_2429.jpg |
Very good write up thanks!
|
just ordered.. thanks
|
no problem at all, im glad I could help
|
Or buy the lights on eBay for a fraction of the cost and do a search for all the other write-ups on this forum...
Even better, buy some cheap rgb led strips with a 3 dollar controller and choose whatever color suites your current mood like I did in the wife's new mustang... Http://photobucket.com/erinsstang |

The OP was actually an installer for our products and this thread was a write up for us to use on our site. Trust me no ebay seller is touching our warranty and support for the price  |
Warranty and support is indeed important for many people so props to you on that. I just don't want everyone that has the DIY bug to think this is the only way to go. ;)
|
Thanks for the post OP. Immediately went out and ordered a full interior/exterior set in white.

Another thing to note is we're using high quality (9) SMD panels for the interior lights. These are a lot brighter than standard led bulb replacements that other sellers offer. We'll look into offering those in the future for those that just want a subtle light kit. |
