FT86 GT manual gear indicator
 

This is for the FT86 GT manual spec cars that do not have the white cluster dashboard. Not sure if it will work on the Scion FR-S or the GTS models

To show what gear you are in.

1/ Press the Odometer button and your odometer should light up.
2/ Cycle to you see G Off.
3/ Hold the odometer in the G Off mode and it should change to G ON.
4/ end..

So now when are driving it will tell you wish gear you are in.

And it gives you an indication when to upshift to save fuel. Quite annyoing in a sportscar that needs 4700 rpm to wake up. I turned it off after one trip. I know perfectly well which gear I am in because I am operating the stick.
