Is this Anti-Theft light normal?
didn't want to start a new topic as it's a simple answer, but i'm just curious if something's up with my 86 or do i need a slap in the head? :slap:
for the GTS owners, The "Anti Theft" light ( i think it is, That's what it says in the manual) which is the red light with a car and a padlock hooked into it. Does it continuously flash when your engine is off, doesn't matter whether the car door is open or closed, lock or unlocked? :iono: mine keeps flashing unless i start the engine or turn the electrics on (Push start without the pressing on the breaks). The manual says it's normal, i don't recall seeing the light continuously flash...Just want to check if I'm seeings the right way. Btw i had the battery disconnected as i was working on installing footwell lights, didn't want to drain the battery. Manual says something about re-registering the key or something. |
i dont know if it is different on the 86, but that is just your factory immobilisers light, and it will flash, always, at a set rate, untill you put the key in the ignition (or in your case push the start, with or without pressing the brake)

Sweet! Cheers dude! Solved! :bonk: Thought i was seeing things... |
Also since I have never dealt with keyless entery, it might stop flashing once the fob is inside the car itself, but this is just a complete stab in the dark from my part :p

mine flashes all the time when engine stops with car both locked/unlocked. but i will check tonight if it flashes with the key fob inside the car.
i have the GTS. |
