Types of intakes

i see we already have a bunch of different intakes, lots of which i clearly see are SRI. i see the takeda is a CAI, but are there any other CAI? injen i've seen listed as CAI in 1 forum and SRI in another so I'm really confused at this point

Where in SoFLA are u located? We have had meets in Miami.

As far as your question, there really is not a true CAI for sale right now, only SRI. My recommendation is to wait a bit more time before getting one. Some months from now we should have a pretty good selection of which to choose from.

Takeda is not really a CAI.

Disclaimer: It depends on your definition of CAI. For some people, a CAI is an intake that goes all the way down close to the road to take the coldest air possible in. If you define CAI simply as cool air (as in not directly from the engine), then practically all of the intakes available are CAI's because they take the air from the front of the radiator, where it is isolated from the engine heat.

^ Yep this is what I'm waiting for. I just got my K&N filter, happy with that for now.

im up in deerfield (North Broward). eventually ill make it out to one of the towers meets when im not busy working, but miami is way to far for me.

ah ok that explains a lot, thanks. if a true CAI is near the ground i guess ill just do a SRI since i def don't want to run it down under
