Clunking noise at low RPMs in 1st & 2nd Gear?
Hey everyone, I've been hearing a sort of clunking noise when I drive in 1st & 2nd (no noise in 3rd-6th gear) at low rpms. Once the RPMs get high enough, the sound goes away, or if I've been driving the car for a while, like an hour or so, the sound also goes away even at low RPMs.
I brought it to the dealership and they inspected the entire under carriage but was not able to find anything making that noise. I am suspecting that it might be the clutch? or something with the transmission? My vehicle is a 2017 Toyota 86 base MT, with 33,500 miles on it. Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you in advanced! |

I had a similar noise when I removed my Whiteline transmission insert and failed to keep the transmission mount's metal center post straight when retightening. This was a very one-off situation though.
What mods have you done in the transmission area? |

If possible, I'd try to mount a camera underneath the car to get a better sound sample of what's going on. I can hear the noise in your video but it's somewhat hard to make out. |
