Mine only makes the noise when I rev the engine not at idle. Personally it doesn’t sound like knocking to me

Is your AC turned to auto / on? Try turning the AC off and see if it stops?

It started doing this after my engine basically turned itself off. I cranked it back up and pulled off to side of road. I popped hood to check to see what happened because I smelled electrical or rubber smell. Engine was making weird popping noise but went away. Iwas driving home and decided to put in manual mode and 1st gear sounded like this video until I shifted and went away. I can drive car but sometimes when I’m driving around 55 the noise will try and come back. Also I did drain a little oil and it contained copper glitter. I haven’t dropped oil pan to see everything. Just wanted some input to see if it could maybe be timing chain

no. it s rod knock90%, also you started to do more damage the moment you turned on the car after it shut itself off (not that s your fault)

Do not start it ever again.. you ll need a new short block if so and very tedious cleaning job because the glitter went everywhere

Chains and retainers is also a good idea to put new

or could be a rocker arm

Pull an oil sample and send it off. Easy way to confirm without tearing anything apart. I wouldn’t run it until then.

If you’re lucky it might just be a bearing but you are absolutely in the realm of “tow don’t run to your nearest engine expert”
